Just got it on today. I have to say I LOVE IT! Very quiet at idle and roars on throttle. I had a friend ride beside me, and he is very impressed and also loves it. If anybody is debating on weather to get this or not, get it. It is the first mod on the ls1 . Hope it sounds good w/ gutted cats.
Congrats! The hooker cat-back is a very nice system, and you cant beat it for the price. Plus with headers it sounds even better. As for gutting the factory cats do you have 02 simms because I think it will set off your SES light. Also gutted cats add a few HP but change the tone of the exhaust as well. I say just keep the cats and get a $40 cut-out welded into your I-pipe if your looking to make the system louder. With the cut-out it will sound very similar to an SLP loudmouth system, which is what I have and I love it, and when you want it to be a little more quiet you can close the cut-out and have the sweet hooker exhaust sound!

Oh.. i'm a newb to ls1's , so forgive me .
Yea, I am also thinking of getting a cutout.. easy and cheap mod. Another thing is ,the left tips dont fit really well . They kinda hang down, its not that big of a deal, is there any quick way to fix this?

U might need to pull your tailpipe up. Loosen the u-bolt on your muffler and pull it up until they are both parallel with each other. Tighten it back up without letting it fall back down.
