well theres no sense in trying to go cheap if **** doesnt fit or hangs so low you scrap everywhere.
plus having a convoluted exhaust setup will cost you power. spend the money when and where needed. it will pay off with power, sound, clearance, and your overall enjoyment of your car.

If youre lookn for the absolute cheapest way to do it. You might be able to buy a magnaflow muffler with a built in xpipe. Its a dual in/out muffler with a perforated xpipe inside. I bought one but havent installed it yet. I bought it off the internet and it was $85 shipped.
I was planning on using the mac ypipe and cutting of the ycollector and connecting the 2 tubes to the muffler on the passengerside underneath the back seat. It wont be a direct weld in. You might need some 2.5" pipes to lengthen the y so you can put the muffler somewhere convienent. If youre dad has a welder you should be able to fab something up without too much trouble.
A lot people think this a dumb idea and I agree with them. I want to try it cuz its so cheap. If it works it would be the cheapest and lightest true dual possible.

Here is mine. I plan to replace the Mac Y piece i used to join the 3 inch X pipe with later on with a mandrel J bend. I'll get some new pics soon with the Borla XR-1 mufflers i have on the car now. Click on the highlighted sig to see pics of the true duals with Mac's.
