Cold Air Intake Piping Size

Hello. I'm running a MAF-less setup and I'll be making a cold air setup for the LS1 in my RX7. Anyone have any suggestions on whether I should run 3" or 3.5" or even 4" piping for this?
Engine has a head/cam swap, ported stock TB.

4" would be overkill imo...go with 3-3.5"

I'm certain that there is some science/equations involved in this- does anybody know anything that would be pertinent?

check out what the size is for a GTO's Cold air setup. I know that the GTO uses piping rather than the setup the f bodies have. Hope this helsp.

If you are using a TB that is 80mm or below, then use 3.5" tubing. If you are stepping up to a 90mm, then use 4" tubing. Otherwise you are creating a restriction. My MAF-replacement pipe is 3.5" (the outer diameter of a stock f-body MAF).

P.S. The outer diameter of the TB (not inner) is 4"...just something to take into consideration when you start to mate everything up.
