Default AIR removal????

Hi all,
I am in the process of putting on new headers and I am goin to rip out my AIR system. Everything is good so far with taking it out, I just need to know what to do with the vaccume hose that was connected to the top of the junction box on the drivers side behind the intake manifold??? What do I need to do with it????
Thanks

Plug it and put a piece of electrical tape over the end.

Should I also take the little metal piece that is also on the manifold that has a plug in it off. It looks the the hose runs in there and then runs out of there??

I just used a vacum plug and I remove the metal bracket for looks but I do not think it hurts anything to leave it on.

It has a check valve in front of it and didn't cause me any problems at all I just hid it in the back to keep it from going anywhere.

Just push it onto one of the screw that is right in that area near the coil pack, and the tape it down. Don't worry about getting a plug and all that other stuff...

It will fit perfectly and I have never had a problem...

Is it okay to rip this piece out??? It had a plug plugged into it, then had a vaccume hose coming from somewhere to it then another vaccume hose connecting to the top of the junction box where all the AIR tubes meet...

I would also like to know since I will be doing this once my LS6 intake gets here this week.
I'd like to remove as much of the AIR and EGR stuff as possible to reduce weight.

You don't need any of that stuff. You will have a plug that's just sitting there next to the fuel rail that isn't plugged in anymore when you remove all of that, but just leave it hanging. Like someone else said plug the little line off on one of the coilpack studs, works perfect. Don't forget to have the AIR deleted or you will get a code.

While we are on the subject...since AIR is an emmissions thing, is it inspectable? Like, illegal to remove?

I'd say technically yes. But we do a lot of illegal things to our cars (technically) if you think about it. It would probably fall under the "tampering with emissions" or some ****. Don't worry about it though, I sure don't

Do you by any chance know where the other end of that little hose is connected to? I swear I remember capping it when I removed the AIR system, but I can't find it anywhere.
