new cats or y-pipe?

new cats or y-pipe? My cats have been on for about 60,000 miles, and was wondering about when do they wear out and what my best option would be. My car is a '00 SS and only mod is a magnaflow cat-back. Whats the best sounding/realistic thing I should change in the exhuast system. Everything except the cat-back is stock

Cats really dont wear out, per say. If you are burning alot of oil they can get fouled and cause troubles, but I would say your ok.
I have the MagnaFlow catback too but I have pacesetter headers no cats and a comp cam and it sounds awesome. If you dont have a prob with taking the cats off then do so and the MagnaFlow will sound so good it isnt even funny.

Its easy to remove them, but you'll have to pay for an ORY that mates with the stock manifolds. Or you could just have an exhaust shop make you one.
I say just leave the cats alone. 5HP isn't worth the trouble.
