Both sets of LT's were brand new? Were they both dyno'd on the same day? What about after 50,000 miles? Can you explain optimal? Sorry, IMO, one comparison, does not make it so.

Looks like to me.. since rapid motorsports sells both kooks and SLPs.. and kooks are more expensive.. they might be trying to sell a few more kooks then SLPs.

You guys crack me up! 10% off Kooks headers:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/sponsor-sales-specials/257883-10-off-kooks-headers.html

So complete Kooks header system with cats and install kit: $1281.91
SLP Header System with Cats and install kit: $1319.85

So go ahead open mouth and insert foot If you don't like the raw data buy the SLP headers. I'll show you my tail lights

Headers were tested within 2 hours of each other. And tell me, what does 50k miles have to do with anything. I am interested to hear this. Also, what does new or used matter? This was a test with an off road Y pipe. For the record, two new out of the box sets.

Camn Hawk: No gain that I have seen on the LS1s. SBF motors seem to benefit more from the merge.

Nice. The gains going to Kooks would be even greater on a 450+ whp car

50k miles would not mean a damn thing for headers. you can run them for 150k miles if they're stainless...they just may look funky

c'mon mikey, they just have buyers remorse and have to defend there product the way most fan boys do. its what happens to people when they see there product on the loosing end of a comparison.

as long as i've been here i've seen plenty of slp to "ABC" header swaps but i've yet to see an "ABC" to slp swap, wonder why that is....

I have had more than a few f-body's, and i've used Slp long tubes on each of them. Truth be told, i have always been disapoited in my numbers. Bolt-on cars and h/c cars. Time for something new. Slp blows ***. I spent $1632 on a brand new set of Slp long tubes, y-pipe, and random cats. I scrape on everything, and I didnt gain ****. Even with the cats gutted, I barely got 10 hp. Slp blows ***.....................

I love my Kooks. Had some y-pipe banging issues common to 4Gens. But I notched the crossmember and that cleared up the problem. They sound great.

Hooper, I have some banging as well going on, but its not bad. Hopefully I can get around to installing my chassis mounted Spohn T/A(lt version) w/ds loop. That will give me a good bit more clearance around the y-pipe.
