Your best bet is to get all the boltons along with a set of drag radials to take him out stock. When he goes for a pulley and hits 450+rwhp then your gonna need to tear into the motor or go FI.

Pullied Cobra's are no joke! Check out the times from over at SVTperformance.com and you'll see the average 450rwhp Cobra on DR's running high 11's @ 119-122mph. It takes a stout LS1 to hang with those trap speeds.

Low 12's, Very rare one of their cobras breaks 11's on DR's.... you post over there alot.. be sure to check.

f- all of that.

with 4000$=

headers/ory/cutout
converter/shiftkit/cooler
= 2k$ (or less but let's say 2k$ with install)

1k$= good nitrous kit with all of the goodies
nitto's/bfg's= 300$
tune=300$
sfc's= 200$

you'll rip him a new one.

for right now, i'd get drag radials and a converter/shiftkit/cooler- that alone should be able to beat him unless he is a REALLY good driver, or at VERY least give him a damn good run in the 1/4 mile (he'll burn you every time from a roll though- sorry). if he doesn't have drag radials forget it- you'll rip him from a stop every time no contest. if you don't believe me, get a ride (have them launch it) in a stalled ls1 car w/ drag radials that are heated up. you'll be going 50mph before he can even try and go full throttle because of traction/ his driving.

I would go with:
Grottyohann style headers
A quality O/R pipe
A decent catback
RAM VDS clutch kit
Moser 12 bolt w/ 4.10s or 4.30s
A quality air lid
A major part of increasing an F-bodies acceleration is suspension-
rear lower control arms
torque arm
subframe connectors
rear sway bar for drag racing; this will help keep the car straight
remove front sway bar; this will help A LOT with weight transfer
You need some QUALITY tires: at least drag radials.

Well, you could get some pacesetters, true duals and a huge cam and be close to 380 to the wheels, or put a LS6 intake mani and be hovering right around 400 to the wheels.

Being an '02 his car already has an LS6 intake.

Here's an idea. Just get the single stage NX wet kit and use it conservatively.

Then put the rest of the money in the bank cause your still in high school you lucky motherXXXXXX.

Perhaps before this year is up I may get a Procharger, who knows!
I thought he meant first time driving his M6, meaning his T/A was a M6, sorry my bad.

What headers are the best? I want some stainless steel ones. Also what cam would you recommend.

Best stainless headers are QTPs or Kooks. Best ceramic are PPCs. Best 'cheap' headers are Pace. Do headers & a stall & you should be able to beat him (if you also get some DR so you still have traction). Tbyrne is running a special on Yank stalls right now. They are THE best. If you want to kill him, add a cam. (a 224 is a good choice for power & driveability with an A4) But then you'll need some serious tuning too.

And as stated before, if the Cobra changes pulleys, then you'll need NOS to beat him.

Good luck!

definetly get qtp's, tsp true duals. and then get a approx 3500 stall. Combine that with a tr 224/224 112 lsa, and you will blow that dumb ***'s doors off. Oh, dont forget drag radials, all of that is about 3000, tune included. you've got a thousand or more left, get a nice pair of patriot performance stage 2 ls6 heads, and then you'll put down to the rear around 450. that will kill him stock, and still beat him with a pulley. And to think, all of that for close to 4000. the only thing you'll need after that is a new rear-end.

Converter - 800.00
Nittos - 300.00
complete 12 bolt - 2300.00
Torque arm - 300.00
Panhard bar - 100.00
LCA's - 100.00
This should get you out of the hole (more than once). Taking him from a roll is another story. You need to decide if you want to spend it on power, traction, or reliability.

I want reliability and power. I want to be able to beat him from a roll. My goal is to get my horsepower around 385-400. Nitrous sounds like an option at this point, but I would like to keep it all motor. I know that I am going to get headers for sure. Most likley QTP's. I also know that I am going to get an SLP Air box lid, and mabye a programmer/tuneup. Oh by the way does any one know where the closest Dyno is to Jackson Tennessee?

True duals - 420.00
Pacesetters - 375.00
Converter - 800.00
Nitrous - 700.00
Cam and all the goodies - 700.00
Nittos - 300
Panhard and LCA's - 200.00
Tuning - varies
That should keep him quiet for a while.

for 4k i would,
tci300-3500 stall, shift kit and cooler= about $1000 installed
pacesetter headers and y pipe=about 750 installed
228/228 cam kit with tune and install=about 1500.
nitto tires=300.
lid=100
above mods will net you about 400 rwhp and youll be doing high 11s with a good launch.

Default Closest dyno to Jackson, TN

The closest dynos to Jackson are probably in Memphis [where I live]. Lucky's Motorsports off of Covington Pike has one. There may be a couple more. I'm building a CTS-V and I will dyno it in about a month. There are also 3-4 tuners here.

All i know is my brother has Jet hot Lt on his car and it looks like hes already having problems with them. I dont know if because we live in the midwest that plays a part in how long the headers will last. You might what to check that out. But my buddy has Stainless Stell Hookers on his 99 and seems to be real happy.

What ever you do let me know how it turns out!
If you want pm me I can tell you want my buudy has done to his car to beat a 03 cobra and a nos cobra
