Tach is dead and car is hard to start . .

Tach is dead and car is hard to start . . Safe to assume somethings up with the cam sensor on the back of the engine? Any other suggestions?
I did an intake swap, and now this . . . . GRRRRRRR.
Once the car starts it runs fine, unfortunately too cold outside to run it this weekend or work on it . . . BRRRRRRR
BTW, thanks for all the advice on the oil pressure issue too. Luckily did not break the sensor, but the damned thing came unplugged . . .

Andy the only way I can see to really check the cmp sensor is if you can get you hand back there to check the harness or take the intake back off. Are you getting any DTC's? Again it sound's like it's electrical and could be the harness is pinched or loose. Check to see if it's connected it's at the top back side of the block toward's the pass. side, should be a single wire connector. I would mess with any plastic connector's though in this damn weather they might snap in this cold *** crap.

Thanks Joe, I need to poke around bake there . . but it's too damn COLD!!!! I'm hoping it is just as stupid as teh OP, coming unplugged . . . my damned luck.

I JUST had these same problems! I just bought a new alternator and battery for the starting problems. I also just installed an aftermarket tach, which works fine. I'm assuming, at least with my car, that the alternator was dying and it shorted out my stock tach. That's the only reason I can come up with since my car starts right away when it's on a charger and my aftermarket tach works.
