Driving car on manifolds and cats If you browse the Racer's Lounge Forum, you probably read about my misfortune two weeks ago. I backed over a manhole cover; my y-pipe was crushed and my driver's cat was shoved into the oil filter, busting it.
I got my Pacesetter LT's in today, and I just wanted to know if it's alright to just change the oil and filter, bend the cat away from the engine, and drive the car about eight miles to the shop I work at to install the headers. We have heaters, all my tools, and an air compressor here, so you can see why I'd rather do it here than in my driveway.
I just wanted to know if it would hurt anything for me to do this.
Oh, and I don't care about the loudness. I'm pretty cool with most of the local cops.
