What dremel pieces did you use?? I started with a carbide cutter, then an silicone grinder, then a softer aluminum grinder, and then a course polishing stone. From there how do you guys get them so shiny and polished?? These TB's look great.

i did mine a little different..i ported mine with some coarse sand paper rolls, didnt take as long as i thought. But as far as shinning it, after i finished porting it, i sanded with 400 grit, then 800 grit, then 1000 grit all by hand, then buffed it with metal polish...if i was able to ever find something finner than 1000 grit it would look like chrome. GOOD LUCK

they make these crossbuff wheels for the dremel.

sand with 60 grit paper rolls to remove material
then switch to 120 to finish it up
then use a 120 crossbuff to remove the scratches.. it looks dully polished by now.
then move up to a finer crossbuff... it'll look polished.

the next step would be to use a fiber wheel and polishing compound, if you want to go that far.

What ring is this that you are refering to? Mine had a rubber gasket I pulled out before I powder coated it. Is this it. How does it hold the shaft in? Do I need to buy this part before I reassemble the tb since I took the rubber gasket out? I know, to many questions
