Borlamouth
Hey anyone run borlamouth. I have a freind that wants to get rid of the popping sound of a loudmouth she already has a dynomax bullet but it still pops. I was wondering if the borla was any better than the dynomax checked ls1sounds.com but those vids were not very helpful. Thanks

get your lady friend to listen to the soundclip at the top of the page. I have a similar setup but I put the Borla XR-1 on my Borla catback because the RASP was ridiculous after I installed my LTs and ORY.

I have the Borlamouth, like the sound. Had it for several years now.Note that other than the LM and the Borla, my exhaust is stock (stock headers, cats, Y). No rasp, fairly deep tone. It can get a little annoying at interstate speeds (1500-2000 rpms w/A4, 2.73s) until it warms up really good. The LM has always seemed to change tone between cold and hot.

SmokingWS6 hit the nail on the head. If you are getting the popping (aka raz) when you are getting off the throttle, it's excess fuel lighting off in the exhaust system. Changing the muffler won't help that.
FWIW, I have a boarla mouth with the xr-1 oval muffler. It took me a while to find the right spot to fit the muffler with out having to bang the floor board in. The exhuast sounded bad *** untill I !cats. With the cats out, I get some rasp. Definately sounded better with the cats, but I prefer to have the extra HP.
If I had to do it over again, I would get the round xr-1 instead of the oval.
