Default Help deciding cat back

Help deciding Cat Back

See sig...

I have mac mid lengths with the Cats and Y pipe and want to get a cat back that will free up more HP.

I am considering Magnaflow and Loud mouth. What would you get and why?

I have heard that the magnaflow is about the same as LM. Is there any truth to that?

Also, the one thing that concerns me with Magnaflow is the 'rasp' when going ORY. With Cats I have not heard anything.

Another thing I have read is that with the LM if you remove cats and go ORY then it sounds like crap.

I probably will not go ORY and am leaning towards the Maganflow and Loud Mouth but I am curious if there is a better alternative for budget/sound/HP gains?

I did both...
LM with cats - Sounds great and frees up the most HP
LM without cats - Absolutely rediculous sounds like $hit!
MF sounds great - no rasp, I added a cutout for optimum HP numbers. The Magnaflow does not flow as good as the LM but is one of the BEST flowing "mufflered" cat backs!

I had Mac mids, cats and Loudmouth and it sounded focking awesome. Then I got an ORY, it was very raspy with the MAC ory (i was borrowing one from a friend), I ended up purchasing a custom ORY that had been shoe bent and apparently that did a really good job with the rasp. I am switching to magnaflow now though, due to H/c and a new baby. Don't want him to go deaf just yet

I understand the baby thing (I have 3 kids). Also congrats on the baby

I think I may change my mind from the Magnaflow to the Loud Mouth with the dual tips. I do not think I will go ORY in the future and the sound clips for the LM at ls1sounds is pretty sweet. The price is a bit nicer on the wallet as well.

You won't be dissapointed with the LM unless you ever decide to go the ORY route. Just be warned, on the highway around 65mph there is a drone inside the car, but only noticible if the windows are rolled up tight. It does sound mean though! Especially when it is cold... it will pop and snort until she warms up a bit.

ENJOY!

I was thinking about too (about a week ago) and looking at the aluminized to save some cash. I am just concerned as to how it will hook up with my Mac cats since it is designed for stock.

Great price and the idea of TRUE DUALS (meaning over the axle) is Great.

I would go TD's if you can or GMMG for a catback, I had the LM but with LT's it sounds like ***. JMO.

My vote goes for TSP Rumbler, like the LM it flows good, but doesn't sound like *** when you get on it.

the magnaflow is one of the best sounding/priced "muffler" on the market without the rasp common in a lm system. But sound is all up to the individual (SP?)
