Aftermarket HVC later on?

I'm going to buy headers in the near future, and I was just wondering, if I buy Kooks or QTP's with standard collectors, is it possible to cut these off in the future and weld on high velocity collectors? I know Burns and some other companies sell just collectors, but I didn't know if this is really a good option. Reason being, obviously, I don't think I want to spend the money right now on the HVC, but in the future, I might want to upgrade. I mean, I could buy the headers and a set of true duals for the price of the HVC headers. Let me know if anyone has done this, and what you think (is it a good idea or not). Thanks.

i would just get the QTP HVM headers and get it done with...i dont know much about header fabrication but the size of the HVM is crucial to its performance
