Default Newbie LS1 mods ?s

Buying a 99 TA, right now it only has a Borla cat back, thinking of going with long tube headers, off road Y pipe, LS6 intake and maybe a TB. Are any of you guys using MAC headers and Y pipe? whats an affordable full length header/Y pipe setup that will work with a Borla cat back? May buy a used setup. ALSO if I put the headers and O/R Y pipe on, can I just use O2 simulators to keep the SES off or does it have to be fully dyno tuned? I will dyno tune it eventually but I don't want to drop $500 to tune it every time I add a mod. Also on a 99 TA with egr, when I put the LS6 intake on, what do I do with the EGR stuff? how to I keep it from trippin SES? Got many more ?s but I will ask you pros for these simple ones first. LOL

OH yeah, the car is lowered with Hotchkis springs, supposed to be 1 1/2" but its more like 2" int he front, sucker is LOW. Mid length headers may be a better option. Wait to see what you guys say. I don't want to sacrifice HP but don't want to scrape every speed bump either. Macs are pretty cheap and apparently the "Pace setters" are to. Never heard of those but I have been out of the game for a while. Don't want to spend more then $500 on headers/y pipe if possible. I would like to get it to 350+rwhp if possible with just headers,Y, LS6 intake and maybe a TB. Do you really have to re-tune to get the HP out of headers and the intake? I mean I know you SHOULD to get the max but.....can I drive it for a while safely without re-tuning it? Its a M6.

98 Z28 M6, I am reading through all of that right now!

Interesting stuff. What all is involved in removing the EGR stuff? If I buy later model headers without the EGR, can I just strip all the EGR stuff off? How do I keep the SES off from the lack of EGR? Also what about the smog pump? I know newbie ?s **** people off but...gotta learn it some where. In the searches you get 50 opinions for every ?. Just don't want any SES lights or driveability problems.

Thanks fellas

oh yeah, Hennytime, I got a Turbo on a hayabusa, don't need anymore turbo headaches. LOL

tuning is the only way too get EGR related codes out. if you read the guide you'll find the link that entails how to remove both the egr and air (if you so choose to)..
