Didn't know there was a trick. Once the factory cat is removed and all six bolts that should be it. I didn't have troubles getting mine to come off after that.

Theres really no trick to it. Basically you have to move the manifold around till it just falls out. This is where many years of tetris will help. Having a friend on the bottom to help guide it also helps alot. Just keep at it and you will get it then that is when the fun starts. Ohh now that Im thinking about it I think we removed the dipstick when we did my friends. Might give that a try.

You can get more room by taking off the coilpacks. The very last bolt you might have to get from underneath though.

Yeah removing them helps alot. What year is your car? If its 99 and up they are on a rail so all of them come off at the same time. If its a 98 they are each individually bolted to the valve cover so if you take all of the off remember what order cause yes it does matter. But if its just the back two bolts just take off the back one or the back two if need be. Also If you have any friends with small hands call them up. They can work miracles.

I have an 02 (so they are on a rail) so I un-bolted every bolt except the last one and then pushed the rail upwards out of the way. On yours just pull the back coils off.

I actually found it easier to come from the top for the back bolt and just reach all the way in.

I also left the cats bolted to the manifolds (since it is well known those bolts will break easily) and once the manifold was unbolted the assembly slid right on out.

take to coil packs off for sure (AND THE DIP STICK SLEEVE), it makes the whole process alot easier if you un-mount the motor and jack it up a few inches, A WHOLE LOT EASIER.... beer makes it easier too, and more fun.
