Question how to make ls6 intake work on 99 SS

How do I make a ls6 intake work on my 99 SS.What is the tb size? Are there different ls6 intakes from GM? I heard something about different egr? What needs to be done. Maybe I can just get an intake from the local junk yard? what year do I look for? I dont have an ls1edit option or any other tuner except my Cran/Vinci hand held.

The LS6 Intakes from GM do not have a EGR provision on them, meaning you can't use your EGR with it. SLP made a version that does have the EGR provision so if you want to keep the egr you can. The only difference in EGR is either with it or without it. You should be able to get an LS6 intake without EGR from any Z06 or also 01-02 LS1's I believe.

There are also different coolant lines and plugs that you're going to need. If you don't get them, the intake won't sit flush in the valley. I do know of a person who trimmed the bottom of his LS6 intake to make his stock LS1 coolant lines fit, but I wouldn't do because I think thats a little ghetto.

How do I get rid of the EGR? I can see what to do, unbolt it from intake and exaust manifolds throw it away and plug the holes, but what about my computer? What will it do to the computer or how my car runs? I found the coolant line kits(for ls6 intake) and if I can get rid of the EGR I can save some money on an intake. Is getting rid of the egr a good idea on a 99?

No point to having it. Get some blockoff plates and have it editted out of your computer. This will technically keep you from passing emissions/inspection, but most places around here do not check for that.
