Capped cutout for the first time Today I capped my cutout for the first time since I got it put on back in May of this year. Talk about a difference in sound levels. I'd forgotten how quiet the car was. I thought I would cap it since tommorrow I'm getting the converter put in and until I get used to it, I want to be able to hear what everything is doing.
I was amazed at just how smooth the engine pulled and sounded. With the cutout, I would get drone and rasp at certain rpms and it was just always loud. I could even hear my radio quite easily today too.
Honestly though, I liked it a lot better with it open. It just sounded so much meaner, now it seems like it sounds like every other car on the road. I can't wait til I get around to the headers, so I can just redo the entire exhaust.

Re: Capped cutout for the first time I just capped mine for the first time today to its going in the shop tomorrow. Do you think its hurting the valves to ride with the cutout open. I read that it could on another post today. I kinda laughed when I started it up with the cap on. Louder is better.
Re: Capped cutout for the first time It takes away alot of backpressure. I dont really know if its bad for the car, but i dont think driving it for 6 months with open headers is good.
