FI ....Stock Exhaust manifolds?
FI ....Stock Exhaust manifolds? I see all kind of mixed reviews on the efficiency of the late model LS1 exahust manifolds. I will be installing a P1SC-1 procharger on my 2004 GTO shortly. Unfortunately I live in CA so the only "legal" header are the JBA shorties. According to what I have read all of the NA installs were less than 5HP gain if there was a gain at all, Several report zilch!!!
Has anyone installed FI with stock manifolds dynoed, then later installed exahust and re-dynoed? I am interested in what the gains were. My unscientific opinion is that the FI motor would be more susceptable to exhaust restrictions than an NA motor, and that maybe the JBA shorties would respond better in an FI set up????????

Might want to check into extrude honing the stock manifolds... of course, that might be as expensive as the JBA's.
This might be hear say, but boost is boost, just you'll get a "artificial" boost level by having a choked up exhaust as to say a free flowing one. I'm not 100% sure on the exact way to phrase this idea though. I'll see if i can get a FI guy to come explain better
