What about a 04-05 6.0. Do you have to notch for ls6 or do you run the truck valley pan

New to the group. thx in advance for all the info
Have a 98 c5
Just did the ls6 valley pan swap. had to notch the block as discrided.. Used a multi purpose tool to make the cut and worked great..

have a question about the block vent tubes (see pic). can these now be deleted. I have deleted the air pump.

Hoping to get alot of assembly done tomorrow.
traveled way down the rabbit hole on this one.

No, you cannot delete those. Those have nothing to do with the PCV system, they are steam ports to allow air pockets/bubbles to escape from the cooling system.

IF you don't like the look of the stock steam vent, they do make some nice aftermarket ones....just sayin'

Look into the jegs 555- 53550 four port steam vent kit. It has more compatibility with the various intake offerings compared to the hardline kits.

As has been mentioned, you need the steam vents for the cooling system to function right. They have NOTHING to do with the air pump.
They're part of the cooling system.
