did you unbolt it?

i just did my catback but i took the rear hangers off first and was able to simply unbolt the clamp where the y-pipe and i-pipe meet and pull towards the rear of the car

came off like a champ

you may have to knock the muffler clamp loose once it is unbolted. just get a hammer or something and tap it a few times

They can be a bitch. Considering it's a '99, it's probably on there good. I'm guessing you don't have access to something as destructive as an air hammer...
