Question Headers or no headers

I'm wanting to put the SLP Long Tuned Headers on my car, but there is talk about emission test starting up, and it wouldn't be worth it to put them on if it would make me fail the test and have to pull them off. I have the FloPac system, Loudmouth exhaust, Y-pipe, and mass air sensor already, the headers would be the icing on the cake for me. Do any of you have this stuff already and have to go thru the emission test??? I would run the high flow catalytic converters with them if I able to pass

slp fan are we

if its only OBD2 all you have to do is make sure theres no DTC's, turn off the rear o2's or run o2 sims.

and get kooks.

Whether to run LT headers vs emissions will be based on the actual emmission laws. All the LT header/ cat y-pipe combos do say they're for "off-road" use only. This is due to changing the location of the converters from the stock location. This is because the cat converteres are "supposed" to be in the stock location in many states, which is impossible for LT's. However, most places only check to be sure there actually ARE converters installed, and that the car isn't throwing SES codes. (Like in my parent's home state of Maryland or where I live in Hawaii.) So, unless the emissions are run by true *** clowns, it shouldn't be a factor.

I'd stay away from the SLP headers. They hang low and I've heard of some people complaining of install issues as well. Kooks makes LT's with converter Y-pipes. They use Magnaflow cats. QTP also has a cat converter y-pipe for their system. They are both good, but on the upper end of cost. I will be running Dynatech Supermaxx headers with integrated cats and y-pipe. All the above brands are stainless steel. I got the Dynatech ones on a GP for cheap, which is why I went that route. (I can't tell you much else about them, because they're still sitting in my dining room.)

Hope this helps.

go QTP LT's

Chances are if they DO start emissions itll be the OBDII scan for codes- just do it and keep your stock manifolds-if they start the sniffer test or anything other then the OBDII then just b4 you take it to get tested-take off the LT's and put on your stock manifolds these cars NEED the LT's

Don't buy anything SLP. Overpriced and customer service is terrible, especially regarding warranty issues.

Kook's headers are the way to go IMO. QTP/Kooks are the same design.

from what i heard by everyone, slp headers are junk. i love my kooks, and if you had intentions of purchasing the pricey slp headers then you can afford the kooks
