Is Running without a catback ok?
I took my Loudmouth off today because I just don't like the sound anymore. I'm selling it and getting a Hooker setup instead. But while I wait, I'm just running on the stock manifolds and Y-pipe. The car sounds unbelievable with no catback on it, but am I running any risks or possibly causing any damage in doing this? I will be doing it about a week or two while I wait for the new catback to show up.

LOL, you took off the "Loudmouth" because you didn't like the sound anymore yet you like the sound of the open Y-pipe now?! It's basically the same sound/tone/volume, except a little more crappy than the Loudmouth cat-back.
Good choice with the Hooker Aerochamber BTW (although it's a LOT quieter than either the LM or the open Y you're running now).

actually LM and Open Y sound quite different, the open Y has more of a mechanical sound because of the LM's extended pipes and bends-they sound completely different. The Y sounds more ballsy as well-more classic sound

Back to the main question with the thread...No, you're not hurting anything by running around with an open Y...

Thanks for the answers so far guys.
I've run it for a day or so now with out a CB on there and love the sound. It's a lot more of a mechanical or deep growl as opposed to the raspy sound that the Loudmouth made. I also noticed a bit of difference on the Seat of the Pants dyno as well.
I'll be fine with the quieter Hooker. It'll go good with the Pacesetter LT's and TSP ORY I'll be eventually getting
Thanks again guys!
