FAST 90mm users - Does your intake whistle @ part throttle?
I'm getting a whistle noise coming from 2000-3000 rpms (when under part throttle acceleration, and while sustaining that rev range).
The whistle does not occur at idle or at WOT.
I've taken off my TPIS 90mm TB and reinstalled it to make sure it was on right and the sound/whistle persists. Does this sound like a TB leak? Or, is this a common noise with the FAST 90 intake?

I've read that thread. I sure hope this isn't the issue with mine. I just got over the whole FAST TB nightmare. This is becoming a HUGE inconvenience.

Strangly enough, the whistle wasn't there with the POS FAST TB. Maybe it's the TB. In fact, I hope it's the TB and not the LSX manifold. I'll take off the TB again and put it back on again to make double sure it's not a TB leak.
I've found it could also be the MAP sensor (thanks Smokin' Joe), or it's an intake leak.
I've read a few methods for finding intake leaks, but none sound simple. Any suggestions before I go out and purchase a stethoscope and a straw?
So many "could be this" or "could be thats" are every bit as helpful as they are discrouraging, but I'd rather hear people's feedback.
Thanks.

And you're ok with this? Do you know what's causing the noise?
Edit: WAIT, just read your sig.

I am the one with the other thread on sealing issues. My TB whistles at closed throttle only from the air being sucked through the closed throttle blade.I have no problems at higher rpms other than the POS TB sticking occassionally. If you know anyone with a shop that does emissions work they will have a smoke machine that is the easiest way to check for leaks. You plug the TB opening,Disconnect your PCV line from the intake and inject smoke in the manifold port. This injects about 4psi of smoke that will billow out any leak you have in the motor. If you were closer I'd tell you to stop by.
Good luck

I'd be willing to put money on the TB. The sligtest little imperfection in the intake tract could cause a whistle. This used to be a big problem with BBK TB's. As far as the MAP is concerned, Drk Phx had a sweet right up on how to correct it. It involved a spacer and longer bolt for the bolt next to the map. Basically a metal arm sticks out over the top of the sensor and sits on top of the spacer. It worked out great for me and I can't forsee any problems with it.

Here is a strange question but I read about this probelm earlier.
Where is the PCV port on the TB? Is it up stream or down stream of the TB blade? I heard TPIS had the issue where they had it wrong.

Good catch though.
