you could go to an auto store and get a tap to rethread it.

If the tap doesn't work you will probably have to drill and tap for a helicoil.

On a related note, does the #1 plug sit farther out than the rest? The number one plug on my LS1 does not seat as far into the head as the rest of the plugs. The nut on the plug does not go all the way into the recess on the head, while all the other plugs' nuts go completely down into their recess. Anyone else ever notice this, or is my #1 spot messed up? The plug tightens down nice and tight, it just does not go as far in as the rest of the plugs.

I hope that was clear.

Just go get a tap and rethread it. That should work unless it is really messed up!

make sure to grease the tap as to capture the metal that may come off the threads,or the may go into the cylinder and cause valve damage.

I hope that everything comes out OK. Messing up the threads or breaking a bolt is one of my biggest fears everytime I work on my LS1.
