Need help with Power Vs Noise
I have an unusual setup, AFR Heads, 222-222 Cam, with stock manifolds/y-pipe/cats, with a GMMG catback. The car is about as loud as I really want, but I'm leaving a lot of power on the table
. I don't want to ditch a $750 catback, but am afraid if I do headers the thing is going to be toooo loooud. Cost no option what is the best header setup for me. Want the best fitment, preferrably stainless steel, best clearance, and most likely cats to keep the nasty smell to a min. Any suggestions? Realize the decible level is subjective, but I need cop attention like I need a hole in the head, really like the stealth ability my manifold/cats offer.
Thanks in advance.

just put kooks headers, kooks catted y, thru a GMMG catback on my buddies 02 z28. it sounds GREAT (for a y-pipe
)! not noisy inside at all and sounds great from the outside. the kooks headers are works of art, as will be the QTP equipment should you choose to get those.
QTP and Kooks are the headers to buy if you have the means, no doubt about it. you CANT be disappointed with them. if cost isnt an issue like you say, i would hit up the 1 7/8" QTP's with the HVMC (high velocity merge collectors)
riding in his car makes me want to ditch the true duals lol

I have virtually the same set up and added the XR1 to the I pipe. The sound is excellent. I would have preferred not to have to do it, not for the sound quality but it's just not as clean as headers to GMMG, but from the sound perspective I'm glad I did.
