I assume this is a stock pulley. If so, you have to attach the pulley on the inside of the pulley; not on the outside edges. The first time removing the pulley is always the hardest.

What he said, also I stipped out a couple of cheap 3 jaw pullers threads my first time. Make sure you are grabbing it in the right place which is not the edge of the pulley and that the puller is ok, If its still fucked up just take it to a shop and have somebody else do it.

If you have an air hammer and a flat bit for it load tension on the puller and lightly air hammer the ballancer in the center area. Works every time. You are just trying to create a vibration so don't go full force and you wont cause any damage.

5 ton 3-jaw puller rented from Autozone...works without any problems as long as you're grabbing the 3 inner tabs.

Glad you got it off! I would of suggested Liquid Wrench, a torch, and some hammer tapping. Thats what I use to free seized bolts and what not.
