CAI from bumper openings in Z28?

CAI from bumper openings in Z28? Has anyone tried to fab up some hosing to go from one or both grilled bumper openings in a Z28 for a cold air induction option? Something that could feed the stock 1/2" x 15" slot at the bottom front of the filter box? Are those openings in a high pressure area when the car it moving?

I was hoping to save $120-180 and not cause potential cooling issues while achieving the same thing as FTRA, SSRA, etc.
The hard part would be figuring out how to match a 3" tube/hose to the narrow slot at the front of the air box. If there are no examples from others to imitate, I will probably just do the FRA mod and see if that makes a difference.

u will definitely "feel" a difference going from stock to fra. u will not feel a difference going from fra to ftra, ssra, cai, etc. ur car will pick up better at higher speeds, but nothing u will feel. the fra by itself is a nice mod. the only thing the ftra,ssra, etc. does for u is seal off the airflow by blocking the front passage and directing the air right into the airbox from underneath.
