Default Pacesetters arrived!!

Got my Pacesetter race headers in yesterday from Speed Engineering. Very good looking parts. Includes a bolt kit and O2 harness extenders. I am probably going to just buy new Corvette rear O2 sensors since I need to replace mine, they are the same sensor as the F-body front, and they come with longer harness than the F-body. Wish there was a set of gaskets, but I will just get some GM metal gaskets and double them up with the stockers. I'd take pictures, but my home DSL modem or the wireless router took a dump after the tunderstorms Tuesday .
Now I need to get my truck fixed and see if I have enough money left to buy Lane's dual exhaust with Sweet Thunder mufflers .

I just reused my stock gaskets, and they worked out fine. I would definitely either get the corvette O2s, or get O2 extensions. I'm just not a big fan of the cut-and-splice routine if I don't absolutely have to.

Enjoy your headers.

I bought a set recently too. There were gaskets in the box. Soft paper type rather than a metal shim gasket.

I also used the stock gaskets and have had no problems with them. I also bought the Vette rear o2's, and if you can get Lane"s exhaust you should be quite pleased with it.

Use the stock gaskets. Paper gaskets stick to the head, leak.

You'll like them. Good quality for the price. I got new GM gaskets from the dealer. Cheaper than ordering online believe it or not. I wouldn't extend the o2 harness if you don't have to. I use the corvette rear's, they are the same but the heater wattage is higher in addition to the length, which is why they are used in long tubes.

Thanks for the info. I plan to use the bolts in the kit since my stockers have been in and out 4 times now. Besides the black ones will look nice on the ceramic coated headers. I will call the few GM dealerships around here and see about getting some new metal gaskets.

Another vote for Corvette rear sensors. No heater codes from them.

I've got a set of pacesetter's going in soon also.
I'll second the GM metal gaskets, I bought a new set only $20 worth it to have new gaskets imo rathar than worry about reinstalling.
those o2 extenders that came with the headers are crap imo. Get some decent ones.
What Y pipe are you using ?

When is the MMP date?? I have to clean out my truck this weekend and have a shop come get it to fix it. Then sell it. IF I have enough money left to get Lanes dual exhaust then that is what I am going with. Oh, and a 9" rear with 3.89s and a Locker .
Would love to do the cruise from B'ham to P.C. also. Might just be Jack and myself though because my wife can barely sit in the passenger's seat since Jack is right behind her . Will let ya know something when the truck sells .
