Default Exhaust and computer

My new Magnaflow catback came today. Was reading the papers and it said to unhook the battery to reset the pcm. Is this necessayr,or will the pcm adjust to the new exhaust without resetting?

It will not hurt to reset the pcm. Usually after major mods is when the computer needs to be reset. Though the computer will adapt on its own as well.
