Throttle body mod I was reading about the throttle body bumpstop mod ( with the Dremel ) and I was just wondering; why did GM make it impossible for the throttle blade to go wide open (aka 90 deg) ?
Im thinking of doing this mod but I just wonder why it didnt come that way from the factory, is there a downside?

The reason the TB doesnt come that way is the same reason they do not come ported. They are cast and machined to be in tolerance- what ever that may be- from TB to TB. There is no down side unless you take too much off

Do you guys think it will add significant rwhp?
no, but every little bit counts right?
porting it will add significant hp. half-shafting it will likely improve part-throttle airflow. but the bumpstop isn't gonna be noticed on the rollers.
