Im not taking up for them.. i dont believe it any more than you do....
Thinking back on it, that might be the more correct story. Other than Steve did say he would put up the $$$ and they didn't bite.

Just curious, but what is everyone considering bolt-ons? IMO rocker arms, valve spring, pushrods, and retainers are all bolt ons. You could get really good puchrods, and some really stiff valve springs, and jack up the rev limiter. Those parts would cut abck on valve float, what? Till maybe 63-6500 RPM?There could be some more power in there, advance the timing, 91 octane.........maybe a bottle of octane booster, I think you could pull it off.

Those are not bolt-ons. I like the definition that bolt-on only means you stay naturally aspirated and nothing you changed/add touches engine oil. Rockers count the same as a cam.

Ahh, see I could see it happening if ya'll thought those were boltons like me. If those aren't able to be installed well, I don't know how you could pull it off, I mean don't the stock valve springs fall flat at what? 6K~6200 RPM? And let's not even get started on stock pushrods. You could always eat some frijole's and sit in front of the intake a work some out. LOL.
