Default Simple spark plug question!

Just wondering how much of a difference it would actually make on my NGK's to be gapped at 35 compared to what most people say to gap them at 50 or 55.. i was told 35 was stock or something like that.. But will i feel any difference to re gap them at 50-55 where everyone recommends? I'm not running any nitrous or anything.. just cam only..

sorry for the stupid question.. but i am thinkin maybe my car isn't getting good spark... thanks guys

There is a post in this section further down where I asked basically the same question. I changed my plugs about 2 months ago and gapped them at .035. I had read that was a good gap somewhere. I haven't noticed anything bad, but stock gap is supposed to be .055. So when I put my LT's on in the next week or two, I will be re-gapping them at .055. I guess .035 is good for people running FI.

If you have a stock head and aren't running N20, I'd suggest NGK TR55's at stock (.059) gap.

I am cam only.. do you think i would get different dyno numbers going from 35 to 59? Does it effect your car a lot with the gaps being off? thanks for the reply wilwaxu!

Forgive my ignorance, but a larger gap produces a stronger spark right? Up until a certain point at least... It seems logical if you think about it this way - It takes more energy to jump farther, than it does to jump closer. so a short gap would have a weak spark because less energy was needed to make it happen.

If I'm wrong and have subsequently dropped anyone's IQ's, please bitch slap me. Thanks
