ThE NOISE IS GONE! FIXED! FINALLY!!!!! :) :) :) All this time it was the tensioner, but not the one I thought. It was the AC tensioner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took off the belt, and now she purrs like a kitten, no more hiss, no more power drain!!!! She is back at FULL capacity for driving!!! Thank God and thanks to all of YOU who've offered suggestions over the past 7 months that this noise has plagued me both in waking life and sleep too!!! A HAPPY ENDING FOR THE LS1!!!!

Glad to hear it! Methodical investigation is the key. If that doesn't work, beer and a hammer will fix anything.
oh and I guess I'll just order a new A/C tensioner to fix it.
