MSD Coils
Hi
I have put capacitive discharge (multi-spark) ignition on 2 other cars (big and small block chev) and it realy made a big difference in power, drivability and plug life. On my old 454 SS Camaro it doubled the plug life. I do not know anyone that is currently using these coils, but don't count them out just yet. I think they will be well worth the cost.

ah, but thoes apps used one large coil, and used the capacitive discharge to fire it off... giving off a hotter spark.
the LS1 has EIGHT coils.... so after it fires, it has about 2 revolutions of the motor to recharge before it has to fire again.
and theres zero cap to rotor gap.
and the spark plug wires are really short.
basicly its a system far more advanced and powerful then any MSD box. it has more then enough power to light off anything the engine can handle... so why the "upgrade"? unlike previous OE ignitions, this one isnt a weak spot.
