Default U-bolted

..exhausts SUCK. they are by far the most annoying thing ive ever delt with to get off. and the air hammer isnt helping too much. i wanna keep the systme on there now in relatively good shape. advice? i could blow torch and pry, keep hammering away, or jus mutilate the pipes...or i could do this to it

You could try a dremel or dotco cutter. Just be slow and careful until almost through the U-bolt, then beat the **** out of it. It'll snap off and you'll just have to get new U-bolts which are cheap if I remember correctly.

its not the u-bolts themselves its the crimps they make.

Best thing to do is... Heat the joints and wiggle the **** out of them.... If someone really torqued down on them they may still not come apart. Patience
is the best thing to use.. Then a BFG and heat

looks like ima have to wait for a nice dry, warm day to do this. but itll be worth it. thanks for the advice guys.

they suck and I have never got joints apart. I guess at best I would saw zaw as close to the back of the joint as I could. then the end of the inside pipe should come out. then if I needed to reuse, I would re-weld a new pice of pipe back on. this would be faster and a lot less hassel. I have tryed to seperate them before and it's NG

I had this same problem trying to get my LM off... All said and done, I ended up at a muffler shop and the guy torched it and pry'd with a flat head screw driver. Really didn't work out to well.

In the future, make the investment in band clamps and black hi-temp RTV sealant. The clamps run about 10 bucks at piece at autozone, o'rielly's, etc...
