Default Cutouts

I know that i want to get cutouts but i was wondering whats the best deal and what company to get? I've seen the Flowtech Race Ready cutouts and they look like plastic and was wondering if they are a good investment or not. Thanks!

Get the Flowtech. They painted black and they are metal not plastic. I've never heard of a plastic piece of exhaust?! Also, I would recommend the electric cutout valve....unless you want it loud 24-7.

Just get one 3" cutout and stick it in the i-pipe under the rear seat. Definitely look into the electric opener, it's a pain in the *** to crawl under the car to uncap it all the time.

http://www.stealthram.com/qtpcutout.html here's an install i did on my 2000 formula back when i had the 3" cutout with the QTP electric cutout. you are doing this just for sound right? or are you trying to get some power along with it?

Just get a manual Flowtech race ready cutout and be happy. If you're rolling on stock exhaust they really aren't that loud when opened and will help you out a little with performance. As for the electric valve...Ummmm, unless you have too much money on your hands and are really lazy I'd just save the money for something else.

i've got dual cutouts in place of the cats right after my long tubes. it sounds insanely loud. I would probably open them up a lot more if i had the electronic ones (which i plan on getting). If you have long tubes i would recommend getting both

Doing it for the cheap performance, i'm not really interested in the electric ones as i will end up buying true duals eventually but cutouts are my temporary solution. Should it be on the passenger side or the driver's side?

if you have the stock Y pipe you have cut the I pipe and weld it in there because the stock Y pipe is flat, not round. if you have and aftermarket Y pipe you could still put it in the I pipe or put one on the driver side and another on the passenger in the Y pipe or in place of the cats like i did

I just had mine done last friday. Put it under the rear seat angled down slightly, and haven't had any problems yet. I've been over speed bumps, rough roads, etc. so far.

The sound is really deep compared to stock. I likey I had planned on capping it over the weekend, but just couldn't bring myself to do it. I've actually picked up some gas mileage from it, because the car pulls easier through the gears and because I don't want to attract the lawman. I can usually only get 17 mpg w/ mostly city driving and I'm already over 18 mpg and it looks like it'll get closer to 19-20 before my tank is empty

You can check out ls1sounds.com at the red Z28 to see how it sounds. Mine sounds almost exactly like it. http://www.ls1sounds.com/my_car.htm

Btw, when slowing down from highway speeds the car sounds like it's got a jake brake from an 18 wheeler Although not as loud.
