Default Air Pump Hose Routing

The factory air pump on a 1993 Z-28 has IN and OUT ports which go to the exhaust and intake. During removal, I forgot to label which hose went where. Anyone know which one goes to the cold air intake and which to the exhaust? Thanks..

This is going to be difficult to describe because I do not know the internal part terminology. Here goes, the hose inlet that is on the part of the housing where the fan or blower or whatever is the one that pulls vacuum and goes to the intake. The one that is not aimed at the fan or impeler thingy goes to the exhaust. If this makes no sense, plug it in and start the car and the one that pulls the vacuum you know goes to the intake... Good luck

would that not be the egr...if it is the egr connection on the exhaust manifolds is bigger than the other two AIR plates...AIR has one on each side of the engine...EGR has only one on the left side...

I am not sure how its setup on the 98's. But on my 2000
(which was different from the 98, 99'swhen I bought my first lid in 2000). The AIR system drew its air from the stock silencer, plumbed down the fender to the pump and then to the exhaust manifolds. When you remove that silencer on the 2000, you had to put a little breather filter on the tube so it could pick up fresh air. The 93 had the same kind of setup, the inlet tube was plumbed into the cold air.

Thanks..that's the way I hooked it up.. IN draws fresh air from the intake and OUT pumps it to the exhaust connection.
