Waste of money??
The guy that owned the car before said he put a flowmaster muffler on the car. I know they aren't the greatest for performance. I have SLP headers, Y Pipe, and 3 inch all the way back. I also have a cutout. Is it worth getting a new muffler, when I can just open the cutout with a switch?

haha, I had to run open headers for a day before I had my exhaust finished up.. Man that is some LOUD ****.. The car would not stop vibrating and everyone was staring. It would shake someone's house when I pulled up.. No lie.

i've got qtp's with dual cut outs right now. there is no way i could go a whole day with them open. those things are LOUD. you can hear it from a block away easy, and that's without taking it past 2000 rpm. they also make your *** go numb on a long freeway drive.

yeah, if it sounds ok to you, the leave it. When i was putting exhaust on my GT stang, jegs sent me a set of mufflers that didnt match and i already had my H pipe on, and my other mufflers off, so i ran manifolds only and that was some loud ****. it sounded mean as hell at idle, but like *** anywhere else. i know the feeling off the *** going numb and the shaking peoples houses. luckily, theres a guy in town that has a carb shop (tony stewart has the exclusive rights to his carb in nascar) and so hes dynoing all the time so people didnt think a lot of it.

i have almost the same step up, the flowmaster sounded really nice before the headers and ory. Now its sounds good but I don't like the poping around 2000-3000 rpm. And i kinda want something with a little less noise for the highway. So magnaflow will be on its way shortly.
