Default Y-pipe With long tubes?

I am going to purchase a set of lt's prob Pacesetter, I have searched and herd a lot of problems with their ory rasping and TSP ory slamming the floorboard. Would it be a good idea to buy a flowmaster merge collector and have a 3" y built at a local exhaust shop to obtain optimal clearance and best merge?

I'm running the TSP ORY with no clearance issues at all, in fact it tucks up great against the bottom of the car.

I just recently installed Pacesetter LT's w/ the tsp ory, and it bangs against the transmission bracket really bad if I had it to do over again I would have a custom ory built.

FLP Dynatech SuperMAXX LT's and ypipe here. Ground clearance is kind of low considering I have the Eibach Pro-Kit, but the headers themselves are very nice and fit well. The muffler shop even riveted rubber tube between the ypipe and floor boards in some areas just to prevent any possible metal to metal contact under load.

Any ORY will rasp. It's not limited to the pacesetter ORY. I use the pacesetter ORY and it doesn't bang anything. Granted, it was a bitch to put in, but it fits nice once it's on.
