Unhappy Broke Something, please help

I broke something I think when taking off my LS1 intake and putting on an SLP LS6. Here's a picture of it. Can anyone tell me what it is? Part # if possible? This install has been kicking my ***, figures this happens and sidelines the car for a while.

It's an electronic sensor in the back of the engine, you can see the one part on the engine, the rest of the black sensor (looks like a film canister) sitting there on the block. Thanks for your help, and feel free to make fun of me for this, I already hate myself right now

Oil pressure sending unit. It happens to the best of us. That piece is the first thing I remove when taking off my intake now.

That's your Oil pressure sensor. We got one from Carquest a little cheaper than the dealership......

Screw that...this way you become more experienced and learn more about your car, plus you get the satisfaction of saying you did it. Besides, it's only like $40 (I broke mine too).

Seems to be pretty common thing to break. I don't know if the computer needs input from the sensor or not-at least I've never been able to monitor oil pressure w/Autotap, and couldn't find anything in the Helms if I remember correctly. Anyone know if it's used for anything other than the gauge????

Just used for the guage. You dont "need" it to run your car, but I would get it fixed asap. Look at it this way...if you had paid somebody to do the intake install you wouldnt get to join the infamous club (The official "I broke the oil pressure sending unit while installing my LS6 Intake Club)

Lets put it this way- If I was, I wouldn't be busy cutting up my hands installing an intake

I don't blame the online directions I was following, but if it was such a big club, they should have mentioned it haha
