Default ac line

when i was taking out my radiator for the cam install i kept snagging that ac hardline the runs into the top passenger side of the condenser. it started leaking out all the freon and i couldn't get it to stop. i took out the 10mm bolt and re-seated that flange hoping that would fix it but it still leaks. i think i'm going to have to just replace the line. does anyone know where to get it or how much it costs?

I don't have the time to look it up, but you can download a parts manual from my website and check it out for yourself. http://nitrousfedmuscle.com/downloads/ .

Once you get a number look it up on GM Parts Direct to see if you can get a price.

Shouldnt be too expensive. Call your local GM dealership or head up there and tell them what you need...the line will need to be replaced.

FWIW...I found that going DOWN with the condensor puts less stress on the A/C lines...just rest the lower corner of the drivers side on a bucket (12" high or so) and that will work great. Be sure to keep that hole in the a/c line plugged with something to prevent moisture from entering the a/c system.

After thre new line is installed, it will need to have a vacume pulled on it and a leak check done. Brace your self. Freon is now going for $25 or more for 12 ozs.

thanks for the info guys. i think i'll try recharging it myself since me and my buddy did his stealth the other day and it came out really well. the worst part is that id already completed the cam swap and everything without losing any freon. then when i was almost done i realized i had messed something up so i had to take the radiator back out and that's when i busted the line. oh well, its not that hot...yet.
