cross thread a header bolt hole ? i was putting in a header bolt and it felt like it was goin in like all the others but when it got down to bout 3 or 4 threads left it started getting really tight soo i stopped and took it out is it cross threaded ? =*( if soo what can i do
did you try putting any high temp antisieze and going back in slowly, if you have a wire wheel clean the threads first. Other options are try cleaning the threads up with a tap, or or insert a helicoil.

i dont think i screwed up the threads cause it was going in easy all the way till the last few threads and i never torqued it very hard .... i dont know what the deal is ,.... think im gonna take it to the midas man on friday hes really good with f bodys ... his ss runs low 10s sooo i trust him with my car

Not sure on the f-body, but on the Vette the original bolts have loctite on them from the factory. You may have to use a bottom tap and chase the hole to get that out. It might be gunked up in the hole and stopping the bolt. A Q-Tip might give you an indication as to whether there is loctite in there.

Get the tap set out, and clean the thread, put a clean bolt in, if it still does it make sure its not bottoming out.
If its cross threading and the tap wont fix it get it helicoiled, will be the strongest header bolt/thread out of the 6 on that side afterwards.
