Depends. They are supposed to last for awhile. On a stock car they probably do. Most of us run into problems because we:
1) Run them with open headers and/or large untuned cams and run very rich causing them to foul up prematurely.
2) Put them in mid/longtube headers where they are much further from the engine than they were meant to be. (enter C5 O2's, such as Bosch part #13111 from autozone)

figures. My Passenger side one is shot and I got like 45k on the car causing bank 1 to run rich and I think that one is going too. My car hadn't been tuned so that's what probably did it.
