Default Air Conditioner Problem

Had some work done on my car and now the air conditioner comes out the bottom. I when I move the control **** it can also come out the top but will not come out the regular vent for the air conditioner. What could it be?

a vacuum leak or broken vac line to the HVAC controls will default to the defrost position. Find that and it will work again.

Yeah, probably a vaccum line problem. I messed mine up when I did my intake swap and I was removing AIR and EGR. Plugged the wrong line and now the fan will only blow on the floor. There is a junction of vacuum lines right near the rear of the intake manifold by the firewall. That is the only thing I messed with, so that is probably where the issue is. Maybe just a line unplugged? What kind of work was done?

check the vacuum connector that opens the air doors, it's a L or some kind of junction right by the PCM and the firewall

The heads and cam were done so hopefully it just needs to be plugged back in.

Yes, that's it. We did the same thing on a friend of mine's 1LE. The vacuum connector that comes out of the rear of the intake has a few vacuum lines on it. One is the big one from the brake booster. There are (I think) two more that are normal sized (~1/4 inch) that plug in as well. One of those smaller ones sends vacuum to the vent door actuator. Plug it back in or replace it if they broke it and you're good to go. If it is plugged in, it's possible they cracked the housing that it connects to so check it out.

I have a FAST 78 manifold and I found a vacuum connector on the passenger side of the intake manifold in the rear and plugged in the vacuum line the leads toward the vent controls but it didn't help. Any suggestions. If not, I'll be bringing the car in at the end of next week to get it checked out.
