Default installed WHISPER LID and no SOTP

well my car was BONE STOCK, and today I picked up a whisper lid I think I got raped on the price 130 even... those bastards ripped me off I think..

went down to discount and got a K&N for the car 67 F-ing dollars after tax...

so after my supposively cheap mod... 200 dollars later I install it all ready to go.. blast down my favorite road and no SOTP difference at all what so ever...

looks better under the hood though..

what gives .. isnt this supposed to be 6-8rwhp? shouldnt I be able to feel something or do I just have a numb butt meter?

It hard to feel that litte of a gain. Do the FRA mod and this will help. The add a cut-out in the I pipe, 34.99$then 30$ install, then you should feel a little SOTP gain

OH and that IATsensor and rubber grommet were the biggest SOB's , I cut the sensor out , but then it wouldnt fit in the hole. So out comes the roto-zip and I cut out about a 1/4 inch & jammed it in. This lid hurt my ego, felt like a hackjob.

didn't feel any difference SOTP with my lid, but the butt dyno told me that it is faster with my mods now, don't worry if it doesn't feel faster now, you are getting ready for the future; do you really plan on feeding a cammed LS1 through that nasty *** stock airbox?

its a foundation mod. it builds for bigger and better things. can't build a good house w/o a good foundation.....the same idea applies here.

it is hard to feal 5-10rwhp. true...

one thing, if your are allready crying about spending some $$$ on your ride, just wait till you do headers, gears, sus., H/C, FI, N20, etc....

HORSE POWER costs $$$$$$. get use to it or buy a civic.

did you port your TB yet?
or do the TB bypass?
FRA? etc?

throw in some 4:10's, LT's, and a cut-out and it will feal, ALOT faster!

good luck.

I dunno. When I did my lid I felt a huge difference. You can really tell it works b/c I put on my stock lid back on for some warranty work....omg I don't know what GM was thinking, it felt like a beat down dog!

8rwhp is tough to feel on the butt dyno. 20rw is much easier....so wait til you do headers to complain

should look at sponsors before you buy next time

Thunder sells Whisper Lid, Holley powershot filter(much nicer than k&n), and filter cleaning and recharge kit for 139.

As said above, its only 5-10 hp. You won't really feel that little of horsepower. Throwing a relatively "big" mod on like heads, long tubes, or cam.......thats where you will feel a difference. Doing the lid is primarily an aesthetic mod more than a horsepower mod. I run the Whisper carbon lid and the FTRA and the car has good throttle response and highway power. Glad the install went so "smooth"
