Intake question.
Intake question. I already have the Magnaflow catback exhaust, K&N and clear MTI lid. Next mod is an intake, but first I have a few questions. Is it really worth it, SLP claims 10rwhp gain, also with it sitting in front of the radiator will it make the motor run hot or cause any problems?

Are you referring to a cold air induction setup like the SLP CAI or fast toys ram air??
I doubt you'll see 10 rwhp, but for <$150 (last i knew) it's probably worthwhile.
You migh need an LS6 intake manifold too.
It will make it run a little hotter, but nothing to worry about.

I dont think the motor would run much hotter with that small amount of restriction in front of the radiator. I also doubt that a cold air intake in front of your lid will gain 10 RWHP...especially over a free ram air modded car (like mine). I would geuss more like 5 RWHP. Think about it this way, some people spend over $350 for an LS6 intake which is good for about 10 - 15 RWHP depending on your setup.

The motor does run a little hotter with the CAI blocking part of the radiator. The more it blocks, the more quickly the car gets warmer. NOthing that earlier fan activation temps doens't normally fix though.

i got the slp underhood cold air for my TA but how do i make it fit while having a trans cooler cuz i cant get it to fit? am i just dumb or?
BTW, got 37k miles on my 99SS but alot of that has to do with it being in the shop for a combined 1yr outta the 6yrs i've had it for various reasons
