First off do a search about this one. Taking off the egr and air wil help clean up the engine bay, and take a little weight off of you front end. You will not see any gains from removing these devices. Taking them off is very easy to do. Depending on the emissions in your state, you may not be able to get away with doing this, I know I cant over here in Cali. You will also throw some codes when removing them, so you will need to remove them with ls1edit or hptuners.

Use the bleeping search button.

It is not hard to take off. Most places now use OBDII plug in diagnostics. If that is the case (find out) you will be fine with a tune.

FYI: This is one of the things I get to answer, word for word, several times every week. I promise you that all the info you ever wanted and then some could very quicky and easily be found through searching.
