That ******* wizard that popped up on the screen is enough to make me not want to buy it. But yeah, it is crap. I was looking in the back of a Car and Driver magazine and there was an ad for "We'll supercharge any car for $69.99!!!" Some kind of electric supercharger that takes like 5 minutes to hook up from what I could see. **** like that makes me chuckle a little.

If I recall, that resistor mod makes the computer think that outside air temp is something like 55 degrees, and the computer then provides some additional timing advance. My car doesn't have this mod and I have driven my car when the air temp. is much colder than 55 degrees, and yet I felt no noticeable difference in how the car ran. For this reason I think the mod is bogus. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but couldn't the resistor give you problems when the weather gets really hot because you would now have too much timing advance for that temp.?

I think that was more the point, to make the car have the timing it would experience with a 55* IAT when it was actually warmer. I'm really not sure how that would affect it at colder temps like you said. People have said the optimal timing occurs around this IAT. But yeah, that's the main problem with this mod, when it gets warmer, there's too much timing and you turn around and get knock...not good. I believe there's certain situations where you can lie to the computer and get away with it (as is the point of MAFT's and such), but the IAT resistor mod isn't one of the better ones.

erm, i was sort of thinking the same thing..... i didnt wanna do some dumbassy mod... if its going to screw up my car.... i mean i can see putting a $.10 resistor on the CAGS.... to get rid of skipped shift..... but, thats really not in the motor....

funny but when I got my car it had the SLP IAT plug thing (aka wayy overpriced iat resistor mod). I took it off right away and tossed it into the glove box and didn't notice any difference. When I get to the track I'll give it a go.. back to back runs with and without. I'm thinking it will make no difference either way.
