Default LS6 Intakes

I have a 99 WS.6...that i have a LS6 intake on. I recently just picked up a Lingenfelter intake. On the instructions..is says something about the coolant tubes. About having to pick up the LS6 part #'s and such. When i installed my LS6..i didnt change any of that..i dropped it in..bolted it on..and was done. Its been like this for about 2000 miles no with NO PROBLEMS. Am i gonna have to change anythign with this lingenfelter intake?

You have to take the coolant tube that runs under the intake off, and put block off plugs in the rear of heads. I got min from taxas speed about 10$.

If the intake you have now wasnt ground down or the coolant pipes werent removed,I dont see how you put it on without issues. This is probably the first I've heard of this.
Are you positive its an LS6 intake that you have? They are flat on the bottom and wont clear the tubes.Do you have a part # for the intake on your car? Some early Ls1 intakes didnt have the egr,so some people try to sell them as Ls6 intakes.Unfortunatly people buy them only to realise its an early Ls1 intake.

The one on the left is a Ls1 intake. My old Ls1 sitting in the shed looks just like it indents and all.It is more shalllow on the bottom and concaves. The ls6 is closer to the bottom and is flat.

So, i guess I dont understand what your trying to say.Or was you quoting this for 99Ws6TransAm so he can see the difference in a pic.

I was just wanting to make sure this guy really has an Ls6 intake incase he bought it used and got ripped!Like I said I never heard of a Ls6 intake being a direct bolt-on with out an issue like he claims.

Same here, never heard of being able to use an LS6 intake with the coolant piping underneath. Most people break their intakes when trying to bolt it down.

I'm with these guys; you might have just put on another LS1 intake at the time of the original swap.

I was showing him how tight the ls1 sits on the coolant tube and agreeing with you (rhino) that he might have gotten ripped off because like (ddelallata) said I've never heard of any one getting a ls6 on without removing the coolent tube.

if you did the ls6 install yourself you'd of seen if the coolant tubes ran the length of the valley cover. the ls6 intake wont fit over the tube or the green clips that hold the knock sensor wires.

Dude, I hate to do this but I'm really gonna have to call B.S. on this one. It can't be an LS6 intake with those coolant tubes still in place and not broken. It's not like a "snug" fit if you leave the coolant lines in. It *will* break them if put an LS6 intake on with the coolant lines still attached... unless you are Jesus and have returned to perform this 1 of many miracles to come... let me guess the next one.... your car dyno'd 600+ hp but you've come to realize after taking the engine apart that there isn't even a cam in there

I just find this near impossible to believe, man.

You tell me where the part # is on the intake and i'll get it. Yes theres a cross over pipe. Some of you need to relax....your making this out to be a big deal... In the picture posted..you can see where the coolant lines ran in the foam..you can even see the bottom of that intake is concaved around where they ran... The ls6 intake bottom is FLUSH...no lifted spot for the coolant lines...my intake bottom is FLUSH...has NO EGR...and fit right on over the coolant lines....
