PCV System ?

When changing from a 98 to 99+ system, what do I need? Should I run a catch can? I would rather run that than the valley cover. I know you DON'T have to run either, but it seems like that would help.

A catch can might help, I'm going to be running an AMW can and probably upgrade to the LS6 valley cover also. Can't hurt.

i switched to a ls6 pcv system without the catch can.

Are you still running 98 perimeter valve covers, or did you switch to 99+ centerbolts?

If you're still running 98 v/c, I don't know how compatible the 99+ grommets/hoses are with the holes/fittings on the 98 covers. Attached is a pic of the 99+ system...you should need parts 222, 241, 273, and 280.

Here are GM numbers that I have:
222 - 12562580
241 - incl w/222
273 - 10198949
280 - 12556454

Thanks LawmanSS. I am going to be switching when I change heads here in a month or so, thus I am trying to make sure I have everything. I like the valley cover, but do not like the idea of cutting into the block...

Yeah...it took a little time, but I got over cutting the block. The biggest problem with that whole operation was dealing with the metal shavings...we took extreme precautions with sealing things up, but those aluminum shaving were everywhere. The area in question is so small, though, that cutting it is no big deal. Just be careful with the preparation and post-cutting clean-up. It really is a much cleaner looking set-up...
